Benefits of being a foster grandparent include a tax-free stipend, paid holidays, transportation costs reimbursement, and free lunch, but most of all it's the experience of making a difference in the lives of local children with exceptional needs. Being a foster grandparent gives senior adults a purpose, socialization, and friendships with other senior adults, and the satisfaction of making a difference in our communities.

🥁DMESC and GFESC foster grandparents enjoyed workshops this month on the benefits of exercise and how important it is to stay in shape at any age. Our grandparents strive to stay fit to better serve their students and teachers. UAMS Institute on Aging representatives taught all of the foster grandparents how exercise doesn't have to be dull. All of the grandparents participated in 🥁 Drums Alive 🥁 where you play unique drums with music to exercise. As you can tell by the photos a great time was had by all!! 🥁
