Friday, September 12, the Foster Grandparent Program celebrated its 60th birthday. DMESC celebrated a ceremony in the morning to honor the 72 current foster grandparents who are serving and to commemorate the local program's 28 years. Speakers included DMESC Director Benny Weston, Penny Lunsford, the first FGP Director, State Representative John Maddox, State Representative DeAnn Vaught, and Terry Young, current FGP Director. This is the absolute FIRST group in the United States to complete an in-person, 3-day CLASS Infant–Toddler training — right here at the Arkansas State Capitol in Little Rock.
In response to a recent cyber event, the CIRT team swiftly reimaged over 500 computers at a school within just two days, restoring system integrity and minimizing disruption to learning.
Kelli Parson and Karen Garner spent the week at the state department of education as a part of the first class in the continental US to be trained assessors in Teachstone’s 2nd Edition Infant and Toddler assessment system.
