DMESC/GFESC foster grandparents participated in the State Foster Grandparent Conference at DeGray Lodge State Park. The theme this year was Foster Grandparent Boot Camp. All 4 FGP programs in the state participated with 115 attendees. Eight different presenters from various co-ops, state offices, and schools presented training. Participants also enjoyed entertainment, bingo, fellowship, and great food.

Students from Mena and Ouachita River schools attended the Nex-Gen Youth Conference presented by VIVE18 and sponsored by Bridging the Gaps of Arkansas. The students enjoyed learning about mental health for youth as well as drug, alcohol and vape prevention with impactful and engaging presentations. Thank you to the Mena Middle School for hosting the conference!

Local Leads Captain Karen Garner was presented with a variety of sensory items from the U of A Partners program. These activities and toys will be distributed to children in the counties of Polk, Howard, Sevier, Little River, and Montgomery. The focus on early childhood children is at an all-time high. Research has proven the importance of early intervention from birth to age five. We aim to meet each child where they are and provide tools and support to ensure that every child reaches their full potential. Thank you so much, U of A Partners program, for loving children in Arkansas as we do at DMESC.

In this collaborative session, educators will explore how to leverage Achievement Level Descriptors (ALDs), Depth of Knowledge (DOK) frameworks, classroom tools, and writing rubrics to enhance instructional planning and student outcomes. Participants will engage in hands-on activities to: *Interpret and apply ATLAS data to inform instruction *Utilize ALDs to set clear learning expectations *Align classroom tasks with DOK levels for deeper learning *Incorporate wrriting rubrics to support student growth and assessment *Join us to discover practical strategies for using ATLAS resouces effectively in your classroom and beyond.

Paraprofessional needed in the Dierks area:
Applicant must have an AA in Early Childhood or a CDA, with the ability to obtain an AA within 1-2 years. Applicants must pass background checks, provide references, work well in a team, enjoy working with children, and demonstrate a strong work ethic.
