Our very own Karen Garner, Local Leads Captain attended the Arkansas Local Leads Convening in Bentonville. The week kicked things off with engaging workshops, then two incredible days with ForwARd Arkansas to collaborate, network, and share ideas to strengthen early childhood across our state. After attending this wonderful event, all 26 Local Leads Captains are focused, inspired and ready to continue to support early childhood education in Arkansas! Thank you ForwArd Arkansas, OEC, Jamie Rayford. Team work is where it is at.

On National STEM Day, we honor J. Frank Scott, the founding director of DMESC and the visionary for whom the J. Frank Scott STEM Center proudly stands. Long before “STEM” became a buzzword, Scott pioneered hands-on learning, teacher support, and community partnerships that still power our work today. Under his leadership, our teachers gained access to innovative tools, professional learning, and student opportunities that made science, technology, engineering, and mathematics feel possible for every learner. The J. Frank Scott STEM Center continues this legacy every day—sparking curiosity and elevating teacher practice. Today, we celebrate J. Frank Scott’s enduring impact—and the future it made possible.
We serve and support our schools so that ALL students succeed.

40th Year Anniversary

October is more than pink ribbons and reminders — it’s about people, stories, and standing together. This month, we’re standing with Allison Mears, one of our own, as she bravely takes on her fight with strength and determination. She is our Behavior Support Specialist who is currently walking through her own battle with breast cancer. Allison continues to inspire us with her courage, her heart, and her unwavering spirit. 💗🦩
Allison, you remind us daily that bravery isn’t the absence of fear — it’s choosing to keep moving forward, one step at a time.
At DMESC, HER FIGHT IS OUR FIGHT!!! 💪💞🦩
Please join us in standing beside her - lifting her up with love, hope, and unshakable support.🦩
