The 2023 DMESC Administrators Institute @ DeGray was a huge success! DMESC superintendents, principals, assistant principals, and other district-level staff received relevant professional development on AR LEARNS, ATLAS, New Standards, Pathways to Licensure, PSA, Suicide Awareness and Prevention, Tier 1, Budget Prep and Legislative Update. District teams had valuable work sessions as well as enjoyable evening social time at the beautiful state park. AR Math Quest Year 2: Mena teachers spent two days learning how to utilize a 5 practice lesson to orchestrate meaningful mathematical discourse in their classrooms with DMESC Math Specialists, Andria Miller and Shannon Miller. #thinkcoop1st

DMESC K-12 Literacy Specialist, Christy Whisenhunt, provided ArPEP participants with an overview of Academic Language and the vital role it plays in planning, instruction and assessment as they relate to student learning and understanding of content. #thinkcoop1st

Oden Preschool Awarded Early Literacy Grant Mrs. Kimberly Gray-Robertson, Director of the DMESC Oden ABC Preschool was recently notified as one of the grant recipients from the Hot Springs Area Community Foundation, an affiliate of Arkansas Community Foundation.

DESE representatives introduced the new state assessment, ATLAS (Arkansas Assessment Theory of Action), test design and blueprint, types of assessment, and use of data in the Grand Hall at DMESC. The new state test vendor, Cambium, trainers also introduced the testing portal.
