Shout out to our Summer Help, Lucas and Xitlali “Golly"! Lucas did a little bit of everything to help us get started and kept us rolling thru the summer while Golly ran our Coop Pantry, along with setting up and tearing down workshops.

Foster grandparents always have the most fun at their workshops! David Verdu spoke to the grandparents at DMESC and GFESC last week to help get them ready for a new school year. He encouraged them to think about their roles and relationships with students and to continue to fulfill their purpose. Three of our grandparents were recognized for serving in the FGP program for 20 years. Congratulations to Nelda Scoggins, Barbara Robertson and Ruby Smith!

It was an informative staff meeting that kicked off the new school year for the DMESC. Mr. Weston prepared everyone by providing information about the LEARNS Act, and time was spent working in our PLCs.

A HOT day was put to good use investigating the water quality at the Cossatot River State Park and Natural Area. Macroinvertebrates were collected and data was used with the biotic index; in phase two, several types of chemical tests were performed with collected water samples. We've got a healthy water ecosystem here!
