The October staff meeting was informative, featuring specialists who shared about new grants received. These included Local LEADS, NIET-AR LEAD Designation, DCTE - Girl Power to the Max - Next Level, DCTE - Be a Model, Break the Mold, and Migrant Program grants. Our featured program of the month was Community Health Nurse Specialist, Cheryl Byrd. Cheryl discussed her role, responsibilities, and collaboration with school nurses regarding topics such as laws, scope of practice, and new teacher orientation. Her program offers valuable resources, ranging from emerging tobacco products to mental health services. Cheryl is a valued member of DMESC, and we appreciate her contributions to our districts. The meeting concluded with productive discussions in our PLCs (Professional Learning Communities). #thinkcoop1st We Serve and Support our Schools for Student Success.
