DMESC STEM Hub recently harvested a delicious crop of lettuce and cilantro from the hydroponic growing system, Grow Tower. Perkins funding has provided Grow Towers for many Agriculture and Family & Consumer Science departments across the Coop. These alternative growing systems inspire students to practice scientific and entrepreneurship skills through the production and marketing of alternatively grown foods.

Foster grandparents always have the most fun at their workshops! David Verdu spoke to the grandparents at DMESC and GFESC last week to help get them ready for a new school year. He encouraged them to think about their roles and relationships with students and to continue to fulfill their purpose. Three of our grandparents were recognized for serving in the FGP program for 20 years. Congratulations to Nelda Scoggins, Barbara Robertson and Ruby Smith!
