The monthly DMESC staff meeting was very productive. Data updates were presented Local Leads Captain, Karen Garner and System Support Specialist, Andria Miller. Tyra Hobson led a session on cyber security measures . The EOM was Science Specialist, Brian Schuller.

DMESC hosted 65 students for an ACT Bootcamp with Chad Cargill. Students were learning strategies for improving their ACT scores and how to be successful test takers. Best of luck on their next test attempt!

State Reps. DeAnn Vaught and John Maddox were honored guests of the DMESC Board of Directors. These legislators discussed local issues and listened to our district's needs. This feedback will be considered in the upcoming legislative session.

Karen Garner, Kelly Parson, and Cheryl Green from the EC (Early Childhood) team participated this week in the Arkansas Committee of Early Learning and the Excel by Eight Learning Community. Hope Worsham and Stacy Smith from DESE shared valuable insights on the ATLAS assessment and its connection to early childhood education. The Office of Early Childhood provided updates on class observations, while the local lead from DMSC was recognized for their contributions during a recent town hall meeting. Additionally, the team had the opportunity to collaborate with various stakeholders from Sevier County to enhance outcomes for students.

The GT students at Joann Walters Elementary, along with their peers, designed the 2nd annual Outlaw Thanksgiving Day parade. They expertly programmed Dash robots to navigate the course with themed balloons.
