The October staff meeting was informative, featuring specialists who shared about new grants received. These included Local LEADS, NIET-AR LEAD Designation, DCTE - Girl Power to the Max - Next Level, DCTE - Be a Model, Break the Mold, and Migrant Program grants. Our featured program of the month was Community Health Nurse Specialist, Cheryl Byrd. Cheryl discussed her role, responsibilities, and collaboration with school nurses regarding topics such as laws, scope of practice, and new teacher orientation. Her program offers valuable resources, ranging from emerging tobacco products to mental health services. Cheryl is a valued member of DMESC, and we appreciate her contributions to our districts. The meeting concluded with productive discussions in our PLCs (Professional Learning Communities). #thinkcoop1st

Feather Linn, Bailey Education coach, recently delivered a presentation on HQIM to the Mena School District leadership team, comprising representatives from Louise Durham and Holly Harshman Elementary schools. This TOT session was a comprehensive overview of the ATLAS classroom assessment tools.🎒Educators utilized the "wizard" to create quick assessments, crafted their own items, and learned how to use working groups. #thinkcoop1st

Who knew math could be so much fun???? Our DMESC Foster Grandparents braved the rain to attend Making Math Fun with Shannon Miller, DMESC Math Specialist. DMESC is proud to announce that Girl Power to the Max! 💪💥is taking it "Next Level". 🚀 This year's DCTE Innovation Grant award expands across seven educational cooperatives in the amount of $305,000.00. 😮🙌 This amazing opportunity is specifically designed to encourage and support the participation of our female students in a phenomenal student project event. Mark your calendars, because on February 8, 2024, DMESC will be hosting our talented students for a day filled with innovation and excitement! 💡 But that's not all! The winners of our event will then go on to attend a regional competition, facing off against students from across SWArkansas! 🌐🏆Together, we are taking Girl Power to the Max! to the “NEXT LEVEL”!
