We were excited to host the DMESC Elementary STEM Challenge on Wednesday, with students from Ashdown Elementary, DeQueen Middle, Cossatot Elementary, and El Dorado Washington Middle competing in a variety of STEM challenges.
A big thank you to Patty Pate for leading and organizing this incredible event the past two days and to all the students who participated—we loved seeing your creativity and problem-solving in action!

Job Opening: Early Childhood Classroom Coach/Trainer
The DeQueen Mena Education Service Cooperative (DMESC) is seeking a knowledgeable and motivated Early Childhood Classroom Coach/Trainer to support early childhood educators across our service area. This position focuses on improving classroom quality, instructional practices, and student outcomes through coaching, training, and mentoring.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and experience working directly with young children and/or supporting classroom teachers. Travel across the DMESC 5 county service area will be required on a daily basis.
Key Responsibilities:
The Early Childhood Classroom Coach/Trainer will provide ongoing coaching and support to early childhood educators in the areas of literacy instruction, effective use of CLASS (Classroom Assessment Scoring System), implementation of Frog Street Curriculum, behavior management strategies, and developmentally appropriate classroom environments. This individual will assist with classroom setup and organization to ensure alignment with best practices and program standards.
Additionally, the coach will mentor new teachers, offering guidance, modeling instructional strategies, and providing constructive feedback to support professional growth. The position includes planning and delivering professional development sessions, conducting classroom observations, and collaborating with administrators and staff to improve overall program quality.
Qualifications:
An Associate’s Degree (AA) in Early Childhood Education or a related field is required. A Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a closely related field is preferred. Candidates must have demonstrated experience in early childhood settings, with a strong understanding of developmentally appropriate practices and effective instructional strategies.
Compensation:
Salary will be based on credentials and experience.
