The DeQueen Mena Education Cooperative has the following positions open for the
2023-2024 school year.
K-12 Literacy Specialist
This is a full-time position beginning July 1, 2023.
Minimum qualifications are:
* K-12 Reading Specialist or Reading Endorsement
* Valid Arkansas Teaching License
* Experience in Adult Learning Situations and Team Problem Solving
* Have Current Knowledge of Research and Effective Practices in the Areas of Literacy Development, Literacy Instruction, Assessment and Professional Development
* Knowledge and Training in The Science of Reading/R.I.S.E. (Reading Initiative for Student Excellence) Specifically K-2 Preferred
* Knowledge of Dyslexia Protocols Preferred
* At Least 3 Years of Relevant Experience Preferred
*Masters Degree
* Citizenship, Residency, or Work VISA in United States Required

Early Childhood Coordinator/ABC Program Coordinator
Minimum Qualifications:
​​​​​​​*Master’s Degree in Special Education, Early Childhood, or a Related Field Such as Early Childhood Special Education
*Special Education Supervision Certification Preferred with Supervisory Experience
*Valid Arkansas Teacher’s License as Outlined by the ADE Experience Working With Young Children With and Without Disabilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Early Childhood Coordinator is responsible for:
*the implementation of early childhood special education services on behalf of the public schools within the cooperative region
*working with superintendents and district administrators
*development of special education services for children with disabilities ages three to five
*employing, evaluating, training, and supervising early childhood personnel and submitting any ALPS to ADE
*working with the Arkansas Department of Education in accordance with the regulations set forth by the Individuals with Disabilities Act
*working with the Co-op bookkeeper in developing and maintaining the early childhood grant application, program approval, budget, and financial reports annually
*purchasing supplies and materials for the program
*working with various agencies throughout the region
*working with head start agencies and for the development of local agreements to assuring the delivery of services for children with disabilities enrolled in head start within the cooperative region
*adhering to the policies set forth by child care license requirements
*the transition of students from the birth to three programs to the early childhood program
*the transition of students from the early childhood program to kindergarten
*providing training in the area of early childhood
*recruitment of therapists needed to serve our identified 3-5-year-olds, obtaining annual contracts with therapists, monthly billing progress notes and reconciliation of monthly therapy bills, obtaining background checks and annual license of contracted therapists
*participating in professional development, staff meetings, and local, state, and national conferences in an effort to maintain a high level of professionalism
*all ADE data entry requirements for Cycle 4 and Cycle 7 reports in eSchool and MySped and Cycle 4 and Cycle 7 revisions made in September and January each year
*MOUs with all of the Co-op school districts to provide their Early Childhood Special Education Services each school year
*MOUs with all of the EIDT centers in our Co-op area outlining the roles and responsibilities of each agency in the provision of services for identified children
*maintaining special education records, destruction of record notices, and storage of special education records for six years
*the Early Childhood Coordinator is designated as the ARMAC Coordinator responsible for coordinating annual ARMAC testing, quarterly random moments and reconciling the quarterly ARMAC certification
*other duties as assigned

K-12 Gifted and Talented Specialist/Recruitment & Retention
This is a full-time position. Minimum qualifications are:
*GT Certification
*Valid Arkansas Teaching License
*Experience in Adult Learning Situations and Team Problem Solving
*Have Current Knowledge of Research and Effective Practices in the Areas of Gifted Education
*Provide On-Site Technical Assistance, Model Best Practices, Observe and Coach Teachers
*Other Duties as Assigned

*Early Childhood ABC Paraprofessional at the following sites - DeQueen
The minimum requirement is CDA credentials and 60 college hours OR passed Parapro assessment OR AA Degree in Early Childhood.
